Growth-focused Key Account Manager | $150k+ OTE | Hospitality Supply
Own and grow a premium hospitality territory across Queenstown, Wanaka Lakes and Otago with a well-established NZ-owned business trusted by hotels, resorts and accommodation groups across the region.
Own and Grow Your Territory.
Take ownership of a high-potential South Island territory for an established hospitality-supply business with a strong reputation and long-standing customer base.
Our client is looking for a commercially sharp, relationship-first Key Account Manager to grow and manage existing accounts across the Queenstown Lakes District and wider Otago region. This is primarily an account management role, focused on deepening relationships, increasing share of wallet and growing an established customer base, with targeted new business development where there is clear opportunity. The long-term goal is to strengthen the company’s position as the supplier of choice for hotels, motels and accommodation providers across the territory.
You’ll step into a sizeable existing account base, backed by a strong fulfilment and support team that ensures customer commitments are delivered. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your territory, backed by a people-first Sales Director who offers practical guidance, support and trust.
If you’re a high-performing account manager who enjoys being on the road, growing existing accounts and building lasting customer relationships, this is the role for you.
What’s In It for You?
Generous six-figure base + 4% KiwiSaver
$150k+ OTE with uncapped commission structure
Fully maintained company vehicle (FMCV)
Work laptop and phone provided
Hybrid flexibility: 3-4 days on the road, 1-2 days in the office / WFH
Ongoing investment in your training and development
Future career pathway including potential progression to Sales Manager for the right candidate
Monthly Team Champion nominations, annual team gatherings and milestone-based rewards
Birthday and work anniversary celebrated, plus a paid Day of Significance each year
What Will You Be Doing?
Your territory spans the Queenstown Lakes District and wider Otago region. You’ll inherit an established customer base with clear opportunities to grow share of wallet, recover revenue and build deeper relationships across the territory. The role is approximately 75% account management, focused on growing existing accounts, and 25% targeted new business development. There’s a structured 90-day ramp-up period so you can build relationships and understand the territory before targets come into effect.
You’ll be:
Managing and growing a portfolio of existing hospitality accounts across the region
Re-engaging accounts where spend has declined, understanding what has changed, and building clear plans to recover revenue and rebuild momentum
Increasing share of wallet across high-potential accounts through structured account planning
Targeting new business opportunities across hotels, motels, resorts and accommodation groups, including new sites within existing groups
Building trusted relationships with both site-level and head-office contacts
Using CRM consistently to manage activity, pipeline and strategic account plans
Planning your territory effectively so field visits and call cycles are focused on the highest-value opportunities
What’s the Culture Like?
Practical, service-led and focused on doing right by the customer. There is excellent staff tenure, and remote staff are not neglected. Sales team members are flown in from around New Zealand to support face-to-face connection once a quarter. The team celebrates wins no matter how big or small. The business goes above and beyond to make sure customers are supported, and they look for people who bring the same level of care and follow-through.
Who Will Succeed in This Role?
This role will not suit a desk-based account manager who avoids travel, relies on relationships without structure, or needs daily direction. It will suit a self-starter who takes ownership, follows through consistently and knows how to turn a territory into sustainable revenue growth. We’re looking for someone who:
Is motivated by customer outcomes
Has proven past success with growing existing accounts
Is proactive, disciplined and strong at territory planning and account segmentation
Is happy being on the road 3–4 days a week and comfortable working autonomously
Is flexible and willing to go above and beyond when the customer needs it
Is well presented so they can professionally represent the brand
Has a minimum of 3 years’ B2B sales experience
Past experience selling into hotels, resorts, motels, accommodation groups, facilities, cleaning, catering, consumables or hospitality supply would be highly regarded.
Ready to Take Ownership of a Premium Territory?
Step into an established customer base and strong earning potential in one of New Zealand’s most exciting regional hospitality markets. If you’re a high-performing Key Account Manager, Territory Sales professional or Senior Account Manager who wants to bring your relationship-building, commercial discipline and sales drive to a business that will back you, we’d love to hear from you.
